About To Pastures New

Colour, pattern and pieces made to make a home feel like your own.

To Pastures New is a textile and interiors brand founded by textile designer Anna Mcilwraith.

With over 15 years' experience in textile design and product development, Anna has worked with and designed for brands including Anthropologie, West Elm, Heal's, John Lewis and The Cotswold Company, across both the UK and US. To Pastures New grew from a desire to return to making — creating original textiles and beautifully made pieces on a smaller, more considered scale.

Anna Mcilwraith of To Pastures New sits at a wooden table, drawing intricate blue floral patterns on white paper with a black marker. Another sheet of paper with red and blue floral designs is visible in the foreground, set against a cozy home interior background.

At the heart of each collection is a fascination with colour and unexpected colour combinations. Inspiration comes from everywhere — from the colours and textures of the Scottish landscape to travels around the world, interiors, objects and the little details that catch the eye.

Anna's designs begin by hand, using drawing and block-printing techniques to build texture and character into the prints before they are developed into fabric. The textiles are printed in small batches, with each lampshade individually made by hand.

The result is a collection full of colour, pattern and personality, designed for homes that don't want to look like everyone else's.
